Homemade Business Christmas Cards

Personalize your holiday greetings to employees, clients or customers by designing handmade Christmas cards instead of ordering the traditional corporate versions. Create eye-catching yet simple cards featuring shapes like Christmas trees, ornaments, snowflakes or stars. Use your mailing to spread holiday cheer, express your gratitude and promote your business at the same time. Ads by Google

Select a Motif
Choose a simple holiday image to adorn the front of your card. Because you'll send the corporate holiday card to associates and clients with a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs, stick to seasonal designs, such as holiday trees, silver or gold stars, Santa Claus, Santa's sleigh, holly leaves, snowflakes or snowmen.

Write a Sentiment
Add a message inside the card that combines business and personal sentiments. In addition to a basic holiday greeting like "Happy Holidays," "Wishing You a Festive Holiday Season" or "Best Wishes for the New Year," thank clients for their business, praise employees for a job well done or commend vendors for a successful year. If you're sending holiday cards to customers, consider thanking them for their support--and ensuring additional business--by offering a discount or promotional offer if they bring the holiday card in sometime during the new year.

Save Time and Money
Stick to your holiday promotions, gift budget and mailing timetable by selecting your materials and Christmas card design wisely. Take a minimalist approach by using a 4-by-5-inch, folded blank card and adding a simple embellishment to the center. Print the sentiment on a piece of card stock that matches the card. Buy blank cards and envelopes in bulk, preferably in a neutral shade like white, cream or tan so you can use leftovers for invitations, greeting cards or thank-you cards in the future. Use a tool like a scrapbooking paper punch or rubber stamp to create as many embellishments like Christmas trees, snowflakes or stars as you need, rather than buying multiple packages of expensive stickers or die cuts.

Create the Cards
Produce the cards assembly-line style, particularly if you have a long mailing list. Place rows of blank cards along the table. Gather the card embellishments--if you've chosen to make your own accents with a paper punch, create one shape for each card ahead of time. If you've chosen a die cut, flip them face down on the table and add snippets of double-stick tape to the backs. Go from card to card, affixing the embellishment on the front. Print and trim the sentiment for the inside of the folded card. Flip multiple pieces over and add double-stick tape to the backs. Go from card to card, affixing the sentiments inside. Sign all the cards, place them inside envelopes, seal the envelopes and add handwritten addresses or address labels to the front.
